Speaking on the Kyle & Jackie O Show, Sandilands began with the invitation that is expected to be sent out to 130 guests next week.
He said the couple’s wedding planners, Mrs Smith Weddings, were stunned by the “keepsake” idea they had.
“(The planners) said, ‘Oh, I’ve been doing this for a long time and I’ve never seen one like that’,” he recalled.
Giving more details, the future groom said the invite is “a little box and it’s made of something nice”.
“There’s gold embellishments on it.”
Touching on the traditional first dance between a wife and husband, Sandilands said they chose to axe the wedding staple.
“There’ll be no first dance, neither of us are dancers,” he explained, sparking a shocked reaction from his co-host Jackie “O” Henderson.
While Sandilands has no plans to do a first dance, he is making a speech during the reception.
The Australian Idol judge also shared his idea of “speech roulette”, where any guest could be chosen to say a few words.
“That’s a terrible idea,” Henderson said, explaining that people “won’t be having a good time until the speeches are done”.
“You’re not producing the wedding,” she joked in reference to his job, “Why do you have to make everything a circus? Yes, you always have to make it like a segment on the radio”.
Speaking of work, Sandilands said his KIIS FM boss suggested a live broadcast of the wedding.
The couple chose to do this in 2022 when they learned of their baby’s gender.
Sandilands and Kynaston have since welcomed their son Otto, who was born in August.
“You don’t want to be working on your wedding day,” Henderson said of the idea to broadcast the big day.
Another tradition the shock jock tried to avoid was taking wedding photos.
“I didn’t want to do wedding photos because you know, I hate photos,” Sandilands said, adding his fiancée told him: “Well, that’s too bad. That is a keepsake and a very important part of the whole thing.”
“We’re not leaving the venue because we’re doing (the wedding) at the castle in the eastern suburbs (of Sydney),” he said of the venue.
“We’ve got a couple of acres and got old trees, lots of stone staircases inside. So I said that we’ll do it there.”
The 51-year-old said they plan to invite 130 guests, including Jules and Guy Sebastian and some of the KIIS FM team.
“We didn’t want to talk to people we don’t really like,” he said of the ‘small’ list.
He added that, with a smaller invite list, the guests would be “feasting on the best of the best”.
“If it was 500 people you’d be having Hungry Jacks,” he joked.
“There’s caviar, there’s seafood, beef, chicken, fish, everything. Whatever you want, you’ve got.”
Sandilands ended the segment by welcoming his good friend Max Lee into the studio, “officially” asking him: “Would you like to do me the honour of joining me on the groomsmen team?”
“You’re one of my oldest friends, you’re one of the first people I’ve ever spoken to when I moved to Sydney, we’ve lived together, we’ve travelled the world together.
“When you think about who really is important to you in your life, I don’t have many, and you are definitely one.”
Following Sandiland’s sentimental words, Lee responded that it “means a lot, I’m in shock but I’d be honoured”.
Sandilands became engaged to Kynaston in January 2022 when on holiday in Port Douglas.

“I apologise to the women of the world, as I am officially off the market,” Sandilands announced on The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time.
He told listeners Kynaston had “no clue” the proposal was coming.
Kynaston, 15 years younger than her fiancé, first met Sandilands as his personal assistant in 2019.
The pair got together after the radio show host split from long time partner, Big Brother VIP star Imogen Anthony.
