Lisa Caprini Sthalekar was born in Pune, Maharashtra, on August 13, 1979. Her birth parents had given her up, and she was living in an orphanage called Shreevatsa when she met Sue and Haren Sthalekar, who would become her adoptive parents.

Even though they were looking to adopt a boy and already had a daughter named Caprini, Sue liked Lisa’s name at the orphanage, which was Laila, so they decided to adopt her.

Lisa Sthalekar (Cricketer): Career

Sthalekar played her first game for New South Wales against Queensland near the end of the 1997–98 season. She started out as a bowler who batted at the bottom of the lineup.

In her first match, she took 0/19 in six overs and didn’t have to bat because New South Wales won by five wickets. She played in five games, including the series against South Australia in the finals.

In the first match, she took 1/22 in ten overs and helped her team win by six wickets. This was her first senior wicket in only her fourth match, and in the second final, she only bowled five overs and got 0/23.
